When it comes to designing eye-catching, beautifully proportioned luxury cars, there is no question that Maserati excels. Each and every model in the new Maserati lineup is a true masterpiece, a work of art constructed with the intent of creating something that is both elegant and sporty, modern and timeless, beautiful and commanding.
That being said, here at Rusnak Maserati of Pasadena, we know that our beloved Italian automotive brand is never one to rest on its laurels; the need to innovate, the desire to excite, to captivate, and to astonish its audience is a constant pursuit. And astonish it did at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show when Maserati unveiled its most ambitious, sublime concept car to date: the Maserati Alfieri Concept.
Then again, the phrase “concept car” can be a bit misleading. Maserati prefers to refer to the Alfieri as a statement, a manifesto, and the embodiment or stylistic paradigm of the brand’s past, present, and future. Retro-inspired in its aesthetic, yet decidedly modern in its proportions, its clean lines–both inside and out–its floating grille effect; it all adds up to an amalgamation of contemporary design elements which have unquestionably been executed with impeccable judgement.
The luxury Italian automaker has been quoted as saying that the Alfieri concept was designed to deliver a performance-oriented package with a greater emphasis on agility. The Alfieri’s dramatic proportions, long hood, and very low grille inset between the fenders both pays tribute to some of the greatest Maserati models of the past, while simultaneously conveying an evolutionary leap from anything enthusiasts have ever seen before.
For its interior, Maserati has opted for the concept car to have a 2+2 seat sports coupe traditional layout, a purposeful decision intended to honor the car’s namesake–Alfieri Maserati, one of the five Maserati brothers–and his passion for racing. Rather than opting for a cabin jam-packed with technology like many modern vehicles, Maserati concocted a refreshingly clean and simple interior–a reduction of complexity. That being said, the Alfieri concept is certainly equipped with an appropriately sumptuous interior that exudes the sense of refinement, panache, and ambiance we’ve come to expect from the Maserati brand.
While the exciting Alfieri is just a concept at this juncture, stop by our Pasadena and Los Angeles area luxury car dealership to view our current lineup of models and see how its design elements trickle down into production models now on display in our showroom.
